✨1. Sparks fly early

The Bills won the toss and decided to defer to the second half and the Jets started the game with the ball. Jets QB Aaron Rodgers led the offense down the field early, finding WR Garrett Wilson for 24 yards. Following a long run by RB Breece Hall, the offense stalled, and the Jets settled for a field goal bringing the early score to 3-0.

On the following possession, the Bills made their presence felt, executing a nine-play drive. The Bills only threw the ball once, as RB Ray Davis ate up much of the early yardage, running for 48 yards on this first drive, including runs of 14 and 15 yards.

At the end of the drive QB Josh Allen punched it in from the one-yard line, taking the lead to 7-3.

The Jets responded with a touchdown drive of their own, with Rodgers connecting with Wilson from the Bills' five-yard line, reclaiming the lead 10-7.

💪2. Applying Pressure

The Bills offense and defense started to apply pressure to the Jets as time began to wind down in the second quarter.

The offense started by putting their second touchdown on the board and reclaiming the lead. Allen delivered a strike to WR Mack Hollins in the back of the end zone for the touchdown. Earlier in the drive, Allen rolled to his right and connected with Davis for a 42-yard completion.

After scoring the touchdown, the Jets looked to be moving the ball, when Rodgers found Wilson again for 24 yards. Then, the pass rush found their footing, getting to Rodgers twice. The first came from DT DaQuan Jones immediately following the 24-yard catch and run from Wilson and the second from DE A.J. Epenesa on third down.

🙌3. Knox, Knox

Right before halftime, the Bills put more points on the board when Allen connected with TE Dawson Knox for his first touchdown of the 2024 season.

Aided by two pass interference penalties, the offense found themselves at the Jets' 11-yard line with under one minute left in the second quarter. On third down, Allen broke out of a sack, scrambled to his left and found Knox in the front corner of the end zone, expanding their lead 20-10.

🙏4. Hail Mary

Following the Bills touchdown drive, the Jets moved the ball to midfield in the final 21 seconds of the first half. On the final play of the half, Rodgers threw up a hail mary to WR Allen Lazard, who brought the football down in traffic and scored the touchdown. The halftime score was 20-17.

😬5. Bend but don't break

After an explosive first half, scoring slowed down from both teams, as the Jets only scored one field goal in the quarter on one of their drives.

Aided by a roughing the passer call, the Jets found themselves in the red zone after a 45-yard RB Breece Hall run. The Bills defense stood strong and forced two incompletions and a run for no gain that forced the Jets to settle for the field goal to tie the game.

On their second opportunity to score, the Jets once again found themselves in the red zone with a chance to put points on the board. Jets rookie RB Braelon Allen scored the touchdown, but it was called back by a holding penalty and pushed the Jets back 10 yards. After throwing an incomplete pass to Wilson, K Greg Zuerlein lined up for a 32-yard field goal, but it hit the left upright and the score remained tied at 20-20.

🙌6. Sealing the deal

After a second consecutive missed field goal by Zuerlein, the Bills got the ball at their own 33-yard line. Allen and the offense moved the ball down the field, putting together a 10-play drive that ended in a K Tyler Bass 22-yard field goal that gave the Bills a 23-20 lead with 3:43 remaining in the game.

On the Jets ensuing drive, penalties hurt the Jets and left them in a third-and-16 situation. Rodgers looked deep toward WR Mike Williams, but was intercepted by CB Taron Johnson, giving the Bills possession immediately after the two-minute warning.

On their final drive, the Bills were able to force the Jets to use all three of their timeouts and were able to run the clock out securing the victory over their division rival.
