🏈1. Titans on the board first
Following consecutive three-and-outs by the Bills offense, on their second drive of the game, the Titans offense made their way down the field. They utilized seven minutes of the clock on a 13-play, 61-yard drive that ended in a K Nick Folk 25-yard field goal that brought the early lead to 3-0 in favor of Tennessee.
🔃2. Rapid Response
After the Titans offense took a 10-0 lead following a QB Mason Rudolph passing touchdown to WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, the Bills offense responded in a big way.
On the ensuing kickoff, CB Brandon Codrington gave the offense great field position, with possession at their own 39-yard line. A completion to WR Khalil Shakir set up a long completion where QB Josh Allen found a wide open Keon Coleman who took the ball 44 yards to the Titans' 11-yard line. RB James Cook took the next carry into the end zone and put the Bills on the board.
🤫3. Quiet first half
Following the Bills touchdown with 10:04 to go in the second quarter, both teams remained scoreless. The Bills had four of their six drives end in three-and-outs, as well as five of their six drives end in punts. Today marked the first game since 2009 when each of the Bills' first four drives was only three plays long.
👊4. Defense makes a statement
After receiving the second half kickoff, the Bills defense made a stand, forcing a turnover-on-downs and giving the offense possession at the Titans' 41-yard line.
On third-and-one, the Titans ran a direct snap to RB Tony Pollard that was stuffed by LB Terrel Bernard and led to a one-yard loss. On the next play on fourth down, Pollard ran in again and lost three yards as he was stuffed by DT DeWayne Carter and S Taylor Rapp.
🙌5. COOP!!!
The offense used the turnover-on-downs to take the lead for the first time in the game. Allen connected with Coleman for a 14-yard gain and TE Dalton Kincaid for another 17 yards. Then the "Coop" cheers broke out from the crowd, as Allen connected with WR Amari Cooper in the back of the end zone for his first touchdown in a Bills uniform. The Bills took the 14-10 lead.
🎶6. Getting in Rhythm
Allen got into a groove in the third quarter, leading the offense to a field goal drive and a touchdown drive to start the fourth quarter.
Allen and Cooper connected on both drives, once for 19 yards and another for 27 yards. Both catches set the offense with great field position on each drive. On the second scoring drive, Allen threw a dart to TE Dalton Kincaid that he took 26 yards and was brought down at the four-yard line. Two plays later at the start of the fourth quarter, Allen rifled a pass in to the front of the endzone to RB Ty Johnson and expanded the Bills lead to 24-10.
💪7. Closing things out
Following the touchdown drive, the Bills defense forced the Titans into another three-and-out. On offense, Allen completed six straight passes, five of which were caught by Shakir.
After scoring the field goal to expand their lead to 17, CB Christian Benford tipped the pass and S Damar Hamlin intercepted Rudolph, giving the offense the ball.
On the next offensive drive, Coleman took a short pass from Allen 57 yards into Titans territory and four plays later, RB Ray Davis broke a tackle and scurried into the end zone for 16 yards, bringing the score to 34-10 and ending the game.
