Bills QB Josh Allen orchestrated the offense, passing for 263 yards and finding four different receivers for touchdowns, as well as leading the charge in the running game, rushing for 44 yards. RB James Cook captured a touchdown on the ground in addition to 39 yards rushing and 4 catches for 48 yards. 1. Aggressive early
The offense started the game off hot with Allen completing five of his first six passes, including a 19-yard catch on the first play from scrimmage to Cook. Then on an early fourth down and three from the Jacksonville 44-yard line, Allen found WR Khalil Shakir for a long completion of 12 yards before Cook ultimately punched it in for the first score of the game from the six-yard line.
The defense matched the offense's energy, forcing an early three-and-out of QB Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars offense with CB Rasul Douglas forcing incompletions in the direction of WR Brian Thomas and Gabe Davis.
Allen continued to air out the ball on the next drive, finding TE Dalton Kincaid on a 28-yard completion up the right sideline that brought them back into the red zone on back-to back possessions.
They were aggressive on another fourth down in the red zone, converting on a fourth-down-and-one from an Allen run. Allen then threaded the needle to Kincaid in the back of the end zone, scoring a touchdown on back-to-back drives to start the game.
2. Capitalizing on short fields + Two-minute drill
The Bills continued their dominant evening when S Damar Hamlin intercepted Lawrence on a pass late in the second quarter.
With the ball at the Jaguars' 41-yard line, the Bills found pay dirt again. Allen found Shakir, who bounced around and ran into the end zone for a 27-yard touchdown, increasing their lead to 27-3.
DB Ja'Marcus Ingram put an end to any hope the Jaguars had of cashing in on their following drive, sacking Lawrence on third down and forcing a punt, giving the offense the ball for one final possession before the first half ended.
Aided by two offsides and an unnecessary roughness penalty, Allen fired a pass into RB Ty Johnson who ran behind the defense into the end zone, increasing the lead to 34-3.
3. Anything you can do…
The Jaguars started the second half firing on all cylinders with Lawrence throwing his first touchdown of the game to TE Brenton Strange, shrinking the Bills lead to 24-points.
The Bills offense responded with a K Tyler Bass 27-yard field goal to bring the lead to 27 points.
After the defense forced two stops of the Jaguars offense, Bass knocked down a 47-yard field goal, expanding the lead back to 30-points.
Rookie RB Ray Davis nailed the final blow into the Jaguars, finding the end zone and bringing the score to 47-10 in favor of the Bills.
4. Rookies for 6
The Bills offense continued to roll on their third drive as it did during the first two as Allen executed an 8 play 68-yard drive to completion. On his first catch of the game rookie WR Keon Coleman caught a pass from Allen and took it 24-yards into the end zone for his first career touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, after a strip sack forced by DE Javon Solomon, Davis was able to punch in a touchdown from 3-yards out, scoring his first career touchdown.
5. Facing pressure
The Bills defense got to Lawrence all evening, ending the game with 4.0 sacks as a defense, two of which came on one drive spanning from late in the third quarter into the beginning of the fourth quarter.
DE A.J. Epenesa got to Lawrence early in the drive on a first-and-ten, but the Jaguars were able to respond. DE Von Miller stopped the offense in their tracks and ended the drive on 10-yard sack on fourth-and-goal, giving the offense the ball.
Ingram, DE Casey Toohill and Javon Solomon got to Lawrence for 1.0 sacks each as well, with Solomon forcing a fumble.
