The Bills filled a vacancy on their practice squad Wednesday signing free agent DL Ra'Shon "Sunny" Harris. Harris (6'4" 296) was most recently with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was released during final cuts on Sept. 4.
The Oregon product is a former sixth-round draft choice of the Steelers (2009). Harris did not make Pittsburgh's roster as a rookie last season, but was picked up on waivers by the Carolina Panthers at the start of last season and appeared in two games for the Panthers. He was then released by the Panthers in Week 4 of the 2009 campaign and signed to the Carolina practice squad.
Prior to Week 6 however, the Steelers signed him off the Panthers practice squad and he remained on Pittsburgh's active roster the rest of the season. He did not appear in any games for the Steelers.
Considered an athletic prospect with 3-4 experience, Harris played in 36 career games at Oregon and led the Ducks defensive linemen in tackles for loss as a senior.
Harris fills the practice squad vacancy left by RB Andre Anderson, who was promoted to the 53-man roster Wednesday.
