In Buffalo's ongoing efforts to mine for additional talent, the Bills added OL Chad Rinehart to their practice squad Monday.
A former third-round pick of the Washington Redskins in 2008, Rinehart (6'5" 307) served as a reserve guard as a rookie. He made four starts in 2009 before a broken fibula cost him the rest of his second NFL season as he eventually wound up on injured reserve.
Rinehart has played in seven regular season games and was most recently with the New York Jets as a member of their practice squad before he was released last week.
Capable of playing guard or tackle, Rinehart was a highly decorated left tackle in college at Div. 1-AA Northern Iowa.
To make room for Rhinehart on the practice squad, the Bills released DT Ra'Shon Harris.
