Bills claim TE Smith; Sign seven to practice squad

ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills announced that the team has claimed and was awarded TE Lee Smith off waivers from the New England Patriots.

Smith entered the NFL as a fifth-round (159th overall) draft choice of New England in 2011. The 6-6, 269-pound tight end started 24 of 48 games at Marshall and recorded 75 catches for 791 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bills also announced that the team has released TE Zack Pianalto.

Buffalo also announced that the team has signed the following seven players to the practice squad:

WR Kamar Aiken

QB Levi Brown

TE Mike Caussin

DE Lionel Dotson

NT Michael Jasper

DB Joshua Nesbitt

C Michael Switzer
