Facing the prospect of not having veteran safeties Micah Hyde and Rafael Bush available for Sunday's game, the Bills elevated S Dean Marlowe from the practice squad on Saturday.
Hyde and Bush are both listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. Neither player was able to practice this week due to groin and shoulder injuries respectively.
If Bush and Hyde are unable to go on Sunday, Buffalo would be down to just two healthy safeties in Jordan Poyer and rookie Siran Neal.
Marlowe gives them a third safety.
Marlowe has played in five NFL games in his career all with the Carolina Panthers between the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
More importantly he's been in Sean McDermott's defensive system for the better part of the last three years.
In fact, knowing Neal is a rookie with just months in the defensive system, it wouldn't be shocking to see the 26-year old Marlowe get playing time on Sunday and perhaps even consideration to start alongside Poyer.
To make room for Marlowe on the active roster the Bills released TE Khari Lee.
Buffalo also signed DT Robert Thomas to the practice squad.
