Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Thursday morning that QB Josh Allen and WR Stefon Diggs will not play in the team's opening preseason game vs. the Colts on Saturday.
"Most of the starters will play. Josh will not. Stef will not," McDermott said.
McDermott shared that the starters that do play are expected to suit up for about a quarter.
"They'll play give or take a quarter just again, depending on who it is and in the situation in the game. Overall, we want to get them where they need to go but also then, take a good look at some of the young players," McDermott said.
McDermott added that he expects Allen to play at some point this preseason but did not indicate when that would be.
The Bills will wrap up training camp at St. John Fisher University on Thursday afternoon before heading back to Buffalo to face the Colts on Saturday at 1 p.m.
