Bills sign TE Joe Sawyer, DB Dominique Ellis

ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Bills added two players to the roster Wednesday, signing TE Joe Sawyer and DB Dominique Ellis to Reserve/Future contracts.

Sawyer entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers in 2012 and was released before the regular season. The 6-4, 270-pound tight end caught 82 passes for 862 yards and six touchdowns in his two years (2008-09) at Southwestern Oklahoma State. He began his collegiate career at Snow College where played in 21 games and totaled 76 receptions for 782 yards and five touchdowns.

Ellis entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012 and was released prior to the regular season. The 5-11, 195-pound defensive back was a two-time All-MEAC selection at South Carolina State where he made 65 tackles and three interceptions in 2011. Ellis transferred to South Carolina State after appearing in 13 games at North Carolina State in his 2008 freshman campaign.
