Just days before traning camp the Bills made a pair of roster moves Tuesday. Buffalo released veteran DE Mark Anderson and placed OT Chris Hairston on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Anderson was signed just last offseason to a four-year contract as a free agent shortly after the team had inked Mario Williams to a blockbuster deal in March prior to the 2012 season. The pair were expected to provide a significant boost to Buffalo's moribund pass rush.
While Williams posted 10.5 sacks last season, Anderson appeared in just five games, missing the final 11 due to injury. Anderson logged just 10 tackles, one sack and a pass defensed.
Buffalo's new coaching staff clearly had other players they were interested in when it came to the pass rushing positions of outside linebacker and defensive end in Mike Pettine's scheme.
The Bills signed OLB Manny Lawson in free agency and swung a trade with the Indianapolis Colts to acquire LB Jerry Hughes this offseason.
Anderson, 30, is now a free agent.
Hairston, who missed a good portion of the OTA practices and all of the minicamp sessions with a lower body injury, is going to begin training camp as a sideline spectator.
On Active PUP, Hairston is eligible to come off of the PUP list once he's medically cleared to practice. Hairston ended last season on IR and is expected to compete for the starting right tackle job with veteran Erik Pears.
