Q: Assess your performance tonight.
A: I feel like I didn't start out how I wanted to obviously. You can't turn the ball over, but definitely some good things that I thought we did as an offense. Defense played great, but definitely some things that we can go back on the film and watch and learn from.
Q: Coach talked about how you bounced back tonight. Can you talk about your demeanor on the field in the face of some adversity?
A: Well definitely any time you face adversity, your teammates are going to look at you and see how you respond. See if you just go in the tank and can't make any more plays the rest of the day. The biggest thing for me was to show that I could fight back and move past it. Obviously, that's not going to be the last interception I throw in my career. It happens. The good thing is it's against my own teammates. You just have to fight back and learn from it.
Q: Where do you feel your game is at? What do you need to still work on?
A: I think overall just get better every day. That's really all I focus on. Like I've been saying, I haven't changed my thought process, even though you have some adversity sometimes I feel like you can still learn from those things and still get better from those.
Q: Specifically?
A: Just decision-making I guess. Obviously you don't want to turn the ball over, so that's something you can change.
Q: How important is it to be getting these extra reps with the first team to get acclimated to what is going on?
A: Great. To get that fastball look from a live defense. I think it's one of the best defenses in the league. I think those guys are going to do a great job for us. Having reps against those guys, having success and even when you're having adversity I think it's good for you.
Q: Were things moving a little bit faster for you tonight on the field because it was your first live setting?
A: I don't think it was necessarily faster. I do think there are some things on the film to look at and learn from.
Q: In the two-minute drill you hit Robert Woods down the sideline. Did you have to fit it in a zone there or what was that?
A: The defense was showing a big blitz and we picked it up. The o-line did a great job communicating and got the call down to those guys. Picked it up and gave me time to throw the ball down to Robert (Woods).
Q: He dropped the last one and was clapping for you to come back to him.
A: Talking about Woody?
Q: Yeah.
A: It happens. He's not always going to be perfect and I'm not always going to be perfect either. You've got to keep making plays.
Q: How important is it for you to go back to him and have him make a play for you? It's kind of having faith in each other.
A: Right, I think even on the first turnover that was just a communication thing, really. I thought he was going to cut inside and he cut outside. I think it's just one of those things, keep coming back to him and let him know I haven't lost confidence in him and know he hasn't lost confidence in me.
Q: Given the inconsistent start, how important was it to finish the two-minute drill with a touchdown?
A: I think it was very important. Not just for myself, but for our team. For our whole offense and our whole team, to go down and have a good drive against a great defense, like I said, to finish the scrimmage strong.
Q: Did you see more from the defense tonight than you had in practices?
A: No. I think they showed a lot of looks during practice as well, so I don't think I saw anything extra.
Q: On the touchdown throw to T.J. Graham, what did you see on that play because Stephon Gilmore hasn't given up much in camp?
A: Yeah, Stephon (Gilmore) has done a great job. Like I said, he's a great corner. T.J. (Graham) ran a great route, got on top of the guy and I threw him the ball and he made the catch for the touchdown, so he did a good job.
Q: Can you go through where you went wrong on the first interception?
A: I wouldn't necessarily say it was a wrong thing. I think it's one of those things where you go back on the film and kind of see what actually happened. Like I said, I thought Rob was going to cut inside, he had the option to go either inside or outside and he cut outside. I threw the ball expecting him to come in. I just have to learn from it and just try to read my receiver a lot better.
