1. Stellar sophomore season
As a sophomore in 2020, Elam earned first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors. He started at cornerback in all 12 games of the season and finished the campaign with 39 tackles, one TFL, two interceptions, 11 pass breakups and one fumble recovery. He was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award after his sophomore season.
2. A family affair
Elam isn't the only one in his family who made it all the way to the NFL. His father Abram Elam was a safety who went undrafted in 2005. He played on four teams from '05 to '12 and played in 104 games. His uncle Matt Elam was a former 2013 first-round pick and played for the Ravens until 2016.
3. All-Around Athlete in high school
The cornerback also ran track and played basketball in high school at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida. As a senior in high school, Elam was the Palm Beach Post 2009 Defensive Player of the Year and Florida's Mr. Football.
4. Racked up the stats in college
Elam finished his career at Florida with six interceptions in 35 games. Added 79 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, 26 pass breakups and one fumble recovery.
5. Academic athlete
Elam was named 2019-20 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. At Florida, he majored in Sports Management and has interest in working in real estate after his playing career.
