J.P. Losman is going to start at quarterback on Sunday for Buffalo as Trent Edwards was unable to practice all week due to a groin injury. Edwards was listed as doubtful for Sunday's game. At best he will serve as the team's emergency third-string quarterback, making Gibran Hamdan the backup to Losman on Sunday.
Out for Sunday's game are Jabari Greer and Aaron Schobel. Schobel practiced all week, but is still not 100 percent recovered from a lingering foot injury. He'll miss his eighth straight game.
Ryan Denney will assume Schobel's starting role at right defensive end. Stepping in for Greer at right cornerback will be Leodis McKelvin.
Questionable for Sunday's game are Donte Whitner, Robert Royal, Teddy Lehman, Chris Ellis and Copeland Bryan.
Whitner practiced fully all week and is expected to start at free safety Sunday with Bryan Scott at strong safety.
With Ellis and Bryan both questionable Buffalo could enter the game with just two defensive ends. In that situation Spencer Johnson would presumably get snaps at defensive end to give starters Chris Kelsay and Denney a break.
But the Bills also have just three defensive tackles counting Johnson, so if Ellis and Bryan can't go there will be some interesting substitution patterns for defensive line coach Bill Kollar on Sunday.
Running back Marshawn Lynch is probable after practicing fully on Friday.
