Two days after being released the Bills re-signed WR Justin Jenkins. The special teams standout was moved off the roster Monday just hours before the season opener against the Patriots because there was a positional need at tight end for Monday night's game.
With TE Derek Fine out with a hamstring injury the Bills would have entered the game with just two tight ends. They needed to make a roster spot available to bring practice squad TE Jonathan Stupar onto the active roster.
Stupar was released Wednesday to make room on the 53-man roster for Jenkins. It's presumed the tight end will be re-signed to the practice squad provided he clears waivers.
