Josh Allen rewrote the NFL history books during MVP-worthy 2024 season

Bills quarterback Josh Allen is likely to be one of the finalists for the NFL's Most Valuable Player award following his historic 2024 season. Allen, finishes his 7th career season with 4,269 total yards, 41 total touchdowns and the fewest turnovers of his career (8).

The 2024 Bills clinched the AFC East in Week 13, which marked the earliest a team had clinched their division since 2009. The Bills are also the first NFL team in history to beat two 14-win teams in the regular season. Allen combined for 747 total yds, 6 TD, 0 sacks in those games.

Here's a closer look at all of Allen's individual and team accomplishments this season:

Josh Allen in 2024:

  • Became the first player in NFL history with 5 straight 40+ total TD seasons.
  • Became the first QB in NFL history with 6+ rushing TDs in 7 consecutive seasons.
  • Now has the most wins (76), total TDs (262) & total yards (30,595) by any player all-time in their first 7 seasons.
  • Became the first QB in NFL history with a passing, rushing & receiving TD in a single game.
  • Set a franchise record for total TDs (262), surpassing Jim Kelly (244).
  • Became the first QB in NFL history to record multiple pass TDs, multiple rush TDs, 350+ passing yards & 60+ rushing yards in the same game (including playoffs)
  • Became the first player all-time with at least two TD passes & two rushing TDs in consecutive games. Also became the first player all-time with three such games in a season.
  • Tied Thurman Thomas (65) for the most rushing TDs in franchise history.

Week 1 (34-28 win vs. Cardinals)

  • With his second rushing touchdown of the afternoon, Allen moved up to No. 2 and tied Dan Marino and Peyton Manning with 225 offensive touchdowns in their first seven seasons.
  • Allen's 38th game with 3+ total TDs, 7th all time.
  • Allen's 18th game with 4+ total TDs, tied with Patrick Mahomes for 3rdamong active QBs behind Aaron Rodgers (37) and Russel Wilson (21).
  • Allen's 10th career game with 2+ rush TDs. Tied with Cam Newton for 2nd all-time behind Hurts (12). This was also Allen's 4th-career game with 2+ pass TDs & 2+ rush TDs, tied with Pro Football Hall of famer Steve Young for the most ever.

Week 2 (31-10 win at Dolphins)

  • Josh Allen's 226 offensive touchdowns rank second among NFL players in their first seven seasons (passing Dan Marino & Peyton Manning).

Week 3 (47-10 win vs. Jaguars)

  • Marked the 6th time Josh Allen has thrown for 200 yards and 3 TDs in the first half of a game. Only Patrick Mahomes (8) has done so more in the first half since 2018.
  • Josh Allen threw four touchdown passes in a half for the second time in his career (1sthalf vs. Pit on 10/9/22).
  • With four touchdowns, Josh Allen now has 25 total touchdowns in Monday NFL games and is tied with Patrick Mahomes for the fastest players to reach this milestone (nine games).

Week 6 (23-20 win at Jets)

  • Reached 234 career touchdowns — the most among NFL players in their first seven seasons (passing Mahomes).
  • Allen tied Dan Marino for the fastest players to 25 touchdown passes in Monday NFL games (10 games).
  • Allen's 27 total touchdowns are the most in first 10 Monday NFL games passing Dan Marino and Mahomes (26).
  • Had his 4th career game with a Rush TD & Pass TD vs. Jets.

Week 7 (34-10 win vs. Titans)

  • QB Josh Allen started in his 100thcareer game
  • Recorded 324 total yards and 2 TDs in 24-point win

Week 8 (31-10 win at Seahawks)

  • Set the franchise record for most consecutive pass attempts without an interception with 231. Previous record was 222 by Tyrod Taylor.
  • Became the fifth quarterback in NFL history with at least 200 pass attempts and no interceptions in his team's first eight games of a season, joining Jason Campbell (2008), Brian Hoyer (2016), Bernie Kosar (1991) and Alex Smith (2017).
  • Reached 180 career pass TDs of his career - passed Ron Jaworski and tied Rich Gannon for 66th on the NFL's all-time list.
  • Allen's 203 passes without an INT was the longest streak to begin the season by an NFL player since Patrick Mahomes in 2019 (212).

Week 9 (30-27 win vs. Dolphins)

  • Passed Joe Ferguson (181) for second place on Buffalo's all-time touchdown passing list.

Week 10 (30-20 win at Colts)

  • Reached 57 rushing touchdowns to tie OJ Simpson for second in Bills franchise history.
  • Allen reached 21 games with one touchdown and 250 passing yards is tied with Tom Brady for the most in the NFL since 1950.

Week 11 (30-21 win vs. Chiefs)

  • Totaled 317 total yards and two touchdowns in win vs. Chiefs, ending Kansas City's undefeated season.
  • Led the Bills in both passing and receiving yards.
  • Became the eighth player aged 28 or younger to reach 25,000 passing yards. Patrick Mahomes was the last player to achieve the feat (2023). Others Drew Bledsoe, Matthew Stafford, Dan Marino, Jared Goff, Peyton Manning, and Cam Newton.
  • Passed Joe Ferguson (2,188) for second place on the team's all-time completions list.
  • Allen recorded his 22nd game with 1+ rushing touchdown and 250 passing yards, the most in the NFL since 1950 (Tom Brady – 21).
  • Allen's 58 career rushing touchdowns takes sole possession of second place in Bills franchise history (Thurman Thomas – 65).

Week 13 (35-10 win vs. 49ers)

  • Passed Jim Kelly (244) for the most total touchdowns in Bills history.
  • Became the fourth player to complete a touchdown pass to themselves since 1960.
  • Became the 1st QB ever with a passing, rushing, receiving TD in the same game.
  • Allen recorded his 22ndgame with 2 touchdown passes + 1 rushing touchdown – tied for the most in NFL history (Cam Newton).

Week 14

  • First player with 3+ pass TD and 3+ rush TD in the same game.
  • Second player in NFL history to have 300+ pass yards, 50+ rush yards, 3+ pass TD and 2+ rush TD in a single game (Mike Vick - 11/15/2010 at Washington).
  • Allen recorder his 60th career rush TD. He joins Cam Newton (75) as the only QBs with 60+ rush TDs all-time.
  • Allen (23) passed Cam Newton (22) for the most games with 2 passing touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown in NFL history.
  • Reached 4,000 career rushing yards and has become the fifth quarterback with 25,000+ passing yards and 4,000 rushing yards – Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Randall Cunningham, Steve Young
  • Sets the Bills franchise record for most 300-yard passing games (Jim Kelly - 26)
  • Allen now has his sixth consecutive season with 3,000 passing yards – first Bills quarterback to achieve the feat (Jim Kelly – 5). Second NFL quarterback with 3,000 passing yards + 300 rushing yards in five consecutive seasons (Cam Newton – 8).
  • Josh Allen joined Kordell Stewart as the only players in NFL history with two games of 3 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns.

Week 15 (48-42 win at Lions)

  • Recorded a 25+ yard pass in every single game this season.
  • Josh Allen has become the 2nd player in NFL history with 20+ passing touchdowns and 10+ rushing touchdowns in consecutive seasons (Jalen Hurts, 2022-23).
  • Josh Allen has a rushing TD for the fifth straight game, tied for the longest by a Bills QB all-time
  • Allen is the only Bills QB to have multiple rushing TD in the first quarter all-time (his 2nd time)
  • Josh Allen is now the first player in NFL history with 35 or more passing and rushing TD in four consecutive seasons

Week 16 (24-21 win vs. Patriots)

  • Josh Allen has tied Russell Wilson (75) for the most wins by a quarterback in his first seven seasons in NFL history
  • Josh Allen has crossed the 500-yard rushing mark for the fourth straight season, and sixth overall in his career. The only QBs with more seasons with 500+ rush yards are Lamar Jackson and Cam Newton
  • With 184 combined yards, Josh Allen has surpassed Patrick Mahomes (30,360) for the most combined passing and rushing yards by a player in his first seven seasons in NFL history.

Week 17 (40-14 win vs. Jets)

  • Josh Allen tied Thurman Thomas (65) for the most rushing touchdowns in franchise history.
  • Josh Allen became the first player in NFL history with 40+ touchdowns in five consecutive seasons. He joins Aaron Rodgers (6) as the only players with 40+ touchdowns at least five times in his career.

Led by Josh, the Bills in 2024:

  • Clinched the AFC East in Week 13, which marked the earliest a team had clinched their division since 2009.
  • Set franchise records for touchdowns (63) & points scored (509).
  • Tied an NFL-record by scoring 30+ points in 8 consecutive games.
  • Went undefeated at home for the third time in team history and first since 1990.
  • Lead the AFC in point differential (+164) going into Week 18
  • Protecting the Football: 8 giveaways are the fewest by any team since 1990.
  • Sack Avoidance: 14 sacks are the fewest by any team since 2009 (Payton Manning won MVP), including 1 sack the last 6 games.
  • Points/Possession: We average over 3 points per possession, the last team to do that was the 2020 GB Packers (Aaron Rodgers won MVP).
  • Responsible for 2 of KC/Detroit's 3 combined losses.
