Practice – August 20, 2007
On the third upcoming preseason game…
Every week gets more and more important from here on out. Even until the last week we want to come out and be sharp in that maybe one series that we play. But like you said I guess the third preseason game is the big one and that's pretty much the one we're preparing for the most. We're going to play the most, get a good feel, able to get rhythm and see if we can get something started.
On if it isn't worth getting frustrated over preseason performances…
I don't think it's pointless to get frustrated. I think that's good. I think that you should be upset if things don't go right. You want to be sharp, you want to be perfect, you want to keep that edge that the coaches are always talking about. But you do have to realize that and I've learned this as it goes, as the years have gone, that don't sweat the small things. They write books on things like that. You just have to learn that what you are doing out there is good, positive things. We're light years ahead of where we were last year. We are looking forward to this week and putting a show on for the fans there.
On if he isn't frustrated…
No, not at all. We've had some great things that are happening. Obviously some things that we would like to go better. We complete a couple balls here and there and we're talking a different story here.
On if preseason is about showing cohesion…
If you want, regardless of what you do in the preseason, it doesn't matter anyway. You would like to get something started, but what does that mean? It doesn't really mean much. We still have to do it obviously against the Broncos in week one and throughout the season. Highlights, yes would be a nice extra benefit of some sort, but we feel like we are getting better and we are building chemistry. That's what we're looking for in our offense right now. We are working together. We are feeling very, very confident and we feel that we're going to be very dangerous. Like I told you guys in the beginning… it's a long process and still a lot of work that needs to be done. It's getting there and it'll be another good test this week.
On his coming on as a leader in the past year…
I don't know. I guess it just starts to come with the territory and the way things have been going, shaking out. I'm definitely dedicated to doing whatever it takes to win some ball games.
