The John Murphy show covered this weekend's football action from all angles tonight. A guy who knows all angles of the Bills, Mark Kelso, started us off. In breaking down tape of last week's loss, Kelso noticed that Stephon Gilmore obviously struggled in his first pro game, but believes he will improve now that he better knows how teams will play him. Mark also believes last week's popular scape-goat, Ryan Fitzpatrick, took more of the blame than he should have. Looking forward to the Chiefs, while Kelso believes that Matt Cassel looks good throwing from the pocket, he looks uncomfortable throwing on the run. Hopefully added d-line pressure will make that happen.
Josh Norris from Rotoworld and NBCsports.com made his debut performance, breakdown some of this weekend's college matchups and the players that will make good pros. Keenan Allen (WR) from Cal-Berkley is one to watch, with great hands and smooth route-running. Norris said while Matt Berkley (QB) from USC is living up to the hype as a strong pro prospect, his main receiving option, Marquise Lee, is possibly the best at his position this year. In evaluating the Bills' picks this past draft, Norris believes that the team got a steal in picking up left tackle Cordy Glenn in the second round. While he thought Glenn would make a better right tackle than left, Norris admits he's been pleasantly surprised.
WGR's own Sal Capaccio joined the show in his normal Friday time slot to go over some key fantasy matchups this weekend. Sal believes that the absence of David Nelson will mean big numbers for Donald Jones in the Bills passing attack. For Kansas City, look for Dexter McCluster to have a big game out of the slot position. Around the league, Sal warned that while Joe Flacco had a great first game, don't look for him or anyone in the Baltimore-Philadelphia matchup to have a break-out performance. He also advised to always give Andrew Luck strong consideration. Even though he lost last week, the system he plays in should give him a solid 300 passing yards every week.
