We're turning back the clock for the second installment of "Captains Circle" presented by Labatt Blue Light.
Bills Legends Jim Kelly and Kyle Williams will be joined by Sabres Legends Mike Foligno and Michael Peca to discuss their leadership experiences as Buffalo athletes in part two of the three-part series. The episode airs Sunday, July 26, at 7 p.m. on the Bills YouTube channel and Facebook page, as well as on the Sabres YouTube channel and Facebook page.
The first installment, featuring Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Sabres center Jack Eichel, is available to watch here.
Kelly played 10 seasons under center in Buffalo, a period that saw the team shed its label as the "Bickering Bills" in the late '80s and evolve into a four-time AFC Champion. Williams embodied the spirit of the city during his 13-year career as a defensive tackle with the Bills, developing from a fifth-round pick in 2006 into a six-time Pro Bowler.
Foligno held the title of captain in Buffalo for parts of two seasons after serving as an alternate under Lindy Ruff during the '80s. Peca's gritty, two-way game earned him the Selke Trophy twice and made him the heart and soul of Sabres teams that were affectionately known as the hardest working in hockey during the late '90s.
During a conversation moderated by Bills multi-media journalist Maddy Glab and Sabres host Brian Duff, the four Buffalo sports icons discuss the roles of captains in their respective sports and eras, managing egos, the "blue-collar mentality," and more.
The third and final installment of "Captains Circle" will air Sunday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m.
