After a week of uncertainty stemming from a hamstring ailment, Bills feature back LeSean McCoy will start today against the Miami Dolphins.
McCoy left Wednesday's practice prematurely with a hamstring issue and went on to miss Thursday's practice before participating sparingly in Friday's practice. He was listed as questionable for the game, but will be active and play.
Head coach Rex Ryan said Friday that they would not play McCoy unless he was "healthy."
"If he's ready to go then we're going to play him without question," Ryan said. "Obviously we want him healthy. If you see him out there it's because we believe he's healthy."
Further indication of how good McCoy feels for this game could be who the Bills have made inactive for today's game. Rookie RB Jonathan Williams is one of Buffalo's inactive players. Had the team been concerned about McCoy's playing status, Williams would've presumably been an active player today to bolster their numbers at the position.
Dareus, Woods inactiveBoth Marcell Dareus and Robert Woods will not play today. Neither Dareus nor Woods participated in practice this week.
Dareus pulled his hamstring two weeks ago in a Friday practice. The hamstring is susceptible to being injured again when a player demands explosive movements out of the muscle. That is what Dareus does every time he fires out of his three-point stance, so the defense will go without him again this week.
Woods sustained a foot injury in last week's game against the 49ers. He played through the injury to finish the game, which included a touchdown reception in last Sunday's win, but it was not fit for practice this week.
"I'm still day to day and just getting treatment to try to get back as fast as I can," said Woods. "I just want to get healthy and get back as fast as I can and make it through the rest of the year."
Hopefully it's not an injury that lingers for Woods like he experienced last season when he tore his groin on both sides and played through it until Week 16.
The other inactives for Buffalo are QB Cardale Jones, RB Jonathan Williams, OT Seantrel Henderson, OL Patrick Lewis, OT Michael Ola along with Dareus and Woods.
