Bills linebacker Kawika Mitchell will look a little different on the field in 2009. No, he hasn't cut his hair, but he has changed his number. After wearing jersey number 59 in 2008, Mitchell has swapped it out in favor of 55.
The number became available after free agent Angelo Crowell signed with Tampa Bay last month.
Mitchell wore jersey number 55 in his only season with the Giants in 2007, and decided he would prefer to have it on his back again.
Experiencing the most playoff success in his six-year career wearing that number with the Giants and winning Super Bowl XLII, it's not surprising that Mitchell made the switch when the opportunity presented itself.
