The Buffalo Bills will be hosting a Wild Card playoff game next week for the first time in 25 years and a limited number of Bills fans will be able to attend.
Through New York State, the club has been granted permission to host 6,772 fans at their home Wild Card game that will be played on Jan. 9 or 10. All fans will be required to obtain a negative COVID test result through the NFL's testing partner, Bioreference Laboratories in order to attend the game.
As a result of certain NFL Rules and other commitments, approximately 6,200 tickets will be available for purchase on Dec. 31 to Bills Season Ticket Members that opted into purchasing tickets earlier this year. Season Ticket Members will be notified based on seniority.
Club season ticket members will receive an email from the Buffalo Bills with a set time to go online and select club tickets on Thursday, Dec. 31.
Non-club season ticket members will receive an email with similar instructions on when to go online to select tickets on Friday, Jan. 1.
The two groups will be selecting tickets from different inventory pools. Due to limited capacity, tickets will only be made available in certain sections of Bills Stadium, including the Sideline Club Seat sections, and the 100 and 200 level of Bills Stadium.
Tickets are not expected to be available for all Season Ticket Members, nor are they expected to be available for general public sale.
Tickets will be available in two and four ticket pods only. Only one pod will be available per each Season Ticket Member account. If New York State permits fans at future games, season ticket members who purchase tickets to the Wild Card game may not have access to purchase tickets to the Divisional Round to afford more fans the opportunity to attend.
Fans will be required to pay for their testing as part of their ticket purchase to cover all associated costs. Bioreference Laboratories is providing each test for fans at a reduced cost of $63. There will also be an additional cost of $11 for parking on game day. The $11 fee is per ticket.
Testing for fans will be administered at Bills Stadium in Lot 4, two to three days prior to the playoff game. Instructions on the testing process will be emailed to the ticket holder by the Bills. Only ticket holders who test negative and can provide proof of a negative result will be given entry to the game. Test results will be sent by Bioreference Laboratories via a secure email.
If a ticket holder tests positive they can contact the Bills ticket office to obtain a refund for the cost of the ticket and the parking fee only. The testing fee is non-refundable.
All fans attending the game must bring proof of their negative test result either on their mobile device or in printed PDF form to gain entry.
Fans will be required to wear a mask at all times while at Bills Stadium. The only exception for mask removal will be during consumption of food or beverage. All concession stands will have identical offerings and all will be cashless.
Gates to the stadium will open two hours prior to kickoff with staggered entry times for fans from 90 minutes prior to kickoff to the start of the game to minimize crowding at entry points. Ticket holders will be assigned a specific time and gate location for entry. Tailgating will not be permitted.
Bills quarterback and captain Josh Allen shared the following message to break the news to Bills fans. "Bills Mafia! I am excited to let you guys know we are going to be allowed some fans for our first playoff game. We are super excited for it. I want to thank all the parties involved – the Pegulas, Governor Cuomo and everybody else involved. Thank you so much."
Allen added. "Please follow guidelines and wear your masks in the stands so we can have you guys there for the rest of the way. Go Bills!"
