The Buffalo Bills announced a new partnership on Tuesday regarding their broadcast team. Buffalo is teaming up with NFL Network's Cynthia Frelund to provide unique content to Bills fans throughout the 2021 season.
Frelund will join the Bills as their sideline reporter during the preseason TV game broadcasts. She will also host a digital segment during the season that dives into statistics and analytics surrounding the Bills.
She is looking forward to working with a team that's packed with talent.
"This is a really fun team, everything from the quarterbacks to the defense," Frelund shared. "It's a great story from top to bottom. Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane are top notch. It's just a really well run organization. I'm really happy to be a part of something where it's the perfect blend of a family setting but also a Super Bowl potential type of team."
Frelund is eager to share her expertise when it comes to analytics because Bills Mafia has a sophisticated appetite.
"I think Bills fans have a really good sense of what's going on," Frelund said. "So if you're looking to go even more behind the numbers and understand what you're seeing and why you're seeing it, I think it's great content for Bills fans. They already get it. They know the plays really well, they know what's going on and this will just add a little more context."
The analytics expert thinks the roster makeup has been well-thought-out by the scouting department and believes it's paying dividends on the field. She is excited to reveal that with an inside look at the numbers.
"I love the drafting strategy of reinforcing the front," Frelund said. "And you've been able to bring in a vet like Emmanuel Sanders to reinforce what goes on on offense too. It's this really nice blend of rookies and veteran players, and you get a chance to see how they all mesh together with really great teachers and architects on both sides of the ball."
Frelund, an analytics expert for NFL Media, can be seen on several NFL Network shows including NFL Fantasy Live and NFL GameDay Morning.
She was previously with ESPN as a Predictive Analytics Analyst and served as a Business Development Manager for Disney ABC Television Group. Frelund was also a finance analyst for the NFL and has an MBA in Finance, Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
