He was to be a restricted free agent, but the Bills avoided extending Colin Brown a one-year qualifying tender offer. Instead Buffalo chose to re-sign the offensive lineman to a multi-year extension.
Brown (6-7, 328) appeared in each of the first five games last season mostly on special teams. He made his second career start a right guard in Week 5 at San Francisco, but tore his hamstring and was placed on injured reserve two days later.
A former fifth-round draft choice in 2009, Brown, who has been with the club since the tail end of the 2010 season has served mainly as a reserve center and guard. Brown will turn 28 before the 2013 regular season.
