It wasn't the cold that kept Terrell Owens off the practice field late this week, it was an illness. Owens missed practice on Thursday and Friday, and it's left him questionable for Sunday's game against New England.
Owens was feeling a little better on Friday as he did report to One Bills Drive Friday.
"He was in meetings," said interim head coach Perry Fewell. "So yes he was better, but we tried to keep him away from us."
The veteran wide receiver has not missed a start this season. If he is unable to go on Sunday, Steve Johnson is expected to replace him in Buffalo's lineup on the outside.
Three others questionableWide receiver Justin Jenkins, reserve OT Jamon Meredith and starting left tackle Jonathan Scott are also questionable for Sunday's game, but all three participated in practice on a limited basis.
Friday was the first day Scott was able to practice coming off an eye injury suffered last week at Kansas City. Scott did work with the first team at left tackle during his time on the practice field.
"He got reps," said Fewell in reference to Scott.
With Kendall Simmons on injured reserve the recently signed Richie Incognito is expected to start in his place at right guard. Fewell sounds as if he's leaning in that direction, but would not commit to it for Sunday.
"He's probable," said Fewell of Incognito starting at right guard. "We've got the young kid (Andre) Ramsey who has done a nice job so we have a couple of options there."
Free safety Jairus Byrd was limited in practice all week, but is probable for Sunday.
