Peters activated for Jacksonville game

The inevitable finally happened on Saturday. Bills left tackle Jason Peters was activated to the 53-man roster a week after ending his lengthy holdout and is expected to play Sunday at Jacksonville.

"I'm just glad to be back, to get back into it," Peters said.

The Bills were given a two game roster exemption for Peters after he reported to the club a week ago. The Pro Bowl lineman returned to the team in good physical condition under his playing weight and with a lower body fat percentage helping his cause to get back in the lineup in short order.

Peters spent extra time with Trent Edwards and a few of his linemates this week to get up to speed on the changes that were made to the offensive scheme under new coordinator Turk Schonert. But Peters stated Friday he was ready to go.

"I'm 100 percent comfortable," Peters said. "I know all of the plays, all of the checks, all of the audibles, the snap counts, the cadences, no-huddle plays, I know all of that."

Peters took almost all of the reps at left tackle in practice on Wednesday,  Thursday and Friday, so in all likelihood the five-year veteran will start sending Langston Walker back to his right tackle position.

To make room for Peters on the 53-man roster the Bills waived OL Matt Murphy.
