Sammy Watkins has been named NFL Rookie of the Week for his efforts in a Week 7 win over the Minnesota Vikings, the League announced on Friday.
Watkins, who also won the award in Week 2, tallied nine catches for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns – all career-highs – in the Bills 17-16 comeback win over the Minnesota Vikings at Ralph Wilson Stadium. With just one second remaining, Watkins' TD grab near the boundary capped a 15-play, 80-yard drive that lifted the Bills to victory.
The Clemson product became the first Bills rookie with multiple 100 yard games in a season since Lee Evans in 2004, and leads all first-year receivers in Bills history with 35 catches through seven games.
All nine of his receptions on Sunday resulted in either a first down or touchdown.
