Top 8 reasons why the Bills 2014 home opener will be awesome

Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. will be honored.

The Bills owner has passed away at the age of 95.

In a pregame ceremony, Bills founding owner Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. will be honored at the first regular season game played after his passing in the stadium which bears his name. Some of the all-time great Bills alumni will be a part of the ceremony. (Read on, wink, wink.) Make sure to get to your seats early, because trust us, you won't want to miss this. It will be a special moment in Bills history.

Along with the Time Warner Cable gameday rally towel giveaway, fans will also receive a commemorative 'RCW' window cling, mirroring the patch worn on the jerseys of Bills players throughout the 2014 season in Wilson's honor.

Our longtime rivals will be in OUR house…

Ralph Wilson Stadium is OUR house, and Bills fans will have no problem reminding the Dolphins - loud and clear – that they are the visiting team, lest they forget. But we have a feeling they won't.

…And so will some of the men who made that rivalry what it is today.

Andre Reed will serve as the Leader of the Charge, presiding over the tunnel as the Bills take their home field for the first time in 2014. Not only is it a first for the team, it's a first for Reed since being inducted into the Hall of Fame in August. He'll return home as a Hall of Famer.

And Reed won't be alone. A slew of Bills alumni will be in the house, perhaps none so exciting to see as Jim Kelly. The man who has shown the entire nation what Kelly Tough means, throughout his career but especially over the past year as he defeated cancer for the second time, will be in attendance.

Bring some Kleenex, because when Kelly, Reed and fellow Bills alumni step onto the field to take part in the pregame ceremony, things could get emotional.

It's throwback week.

Throwback week.

We're rolling off a win.

And isn't that nice? While the players are focused on their game plan for the Dolphins, we can still revel in last weekend's win. We're 1-0. And momentum is a pretty thing.

The renovations are done.

From the first day of the offseason, through blisteringly cold temperatures (as low as a -22 degree wind chill) and the heat of the summer (92 degrees on the hottest day), Ralph Wilson Stadium has been under construction. Tomorrow, the nine month, $130 million renovation project will be complete and ready for Bills fans to enjoy. Between new super gates to get you into the stadium with ease, completely renovated concession stands offering La Nova pizza, Pizza Logs, Timbits, and Duff's wings, a massive new Bills Store open during the game to fans inside the gates, and so much more, you'll have a tough time deciding what you like best about the renovated Ralph. The changes are big, bold and will make you proud to be a Bills fan (as if you needed another reason).

A celebration is in order: the Bills are here to stay.

Much about the future of the team has been decided in the past week as the Pegula family reassured all of Western New York and Bills fans around the world that the Bills would be here to stay. Your kids and your kids' kids will have the chance to grow up as you did, with an undying love for the BUFFALO Bills. And that's something to celebrate.

It's the home opener!

And what more reason do you need? We'll see you there.
