The Buffalo Bills started phase one of their offseason activities this week, which includes several days of weight lifting, conditioning and team meetings.

We heard from Bills QB Josh Allen and his thoughts on the offseason so far, as well as an introductory press conference for longtime Bill Tre'Davious White (2017-23) who signed a one-year contract Monday to return for the 2025 season. Here's what we learned.

Josh Allen: Feeling great physically

Year 7 in the NFL was kind to not only the statistics of the 2024 NFL MVP, but his physical health as well.

Josh Allen said Tuesday that this is "the best I've felt physically after a season."

"Really didn't have any ailments. I didn't take too many hits this last year as the least sacked quarterback in the league," Allen said. "And that's thanks to the type of scheme that we're running and how well our offensive line played. So the body felt good."

Allen added that while he still gave himself time to recover from the season, that process went quicker and smoother than year's past. Going into previous offseasons with ailments to manage has often prompted the quarterback to begin his approach for the coming year with fine-tuning his mechanics.

Instead, his eyes have been focused on how he diagnoses the play coming out of the huddle.

"Pre-snap is what we're looking at right now, just trying to help me identify what I'm seeing. Better with my footwork in certain routes and certain combinations, making sure that within the offense I'm doing a good job of setting the protections the right way, knowing where my answers are," Allen said.

As new faces made their way to One Bills Drive this week, Allen shared his goal is to show them "what this culture is all about, and how to vibe in this locker room." Allen, who deleted his social media, was completely unaware of the previous day's news which included the signing of a familiar face in Tre'Davious White.

"I peaked him and I went to equipment managers, like, is that Tre White over there? Just making sure," Allen laughed.

Allen took his leadership to the next level a season ago, shouldering more responsibility when it came to setting the tone in the locker room. That internal expectation for the QB remains the same. Allen shared that he's been in contact with Keon Coleman during the offseason and the WR sent him messages expressing his desire to grow going into Year 2.

"He sent me a couple long texts of wanting to be better. And we're going to continue to work extremely hard and try to get on the same page. He's got so much ability, he's so athletic, he's already put on some weight, and he's gotten a little bit stronger. I'm excited to see his progression," Allen said.

Tre White describes his journey back to Buffalo

When Tre'Davious White told his family the news that they were going back to Buffalo, there was instant joy shared between them.

"They were so excited to go into the attic, unbox those Buffalo blue jerseys and start back wearing that Buffalo blue again. So this is a big time for me," White said while sitting at the media room podium.

The memories and connections made during the seven years in Buffalo for White fueled his desire to want to return to a place he loves.

"I just felt in place. I felt home. For that I'm forever grateful, and I'm so thankful to be back," he said.

Following the 2023 season, the Bills let go of several veteran leaders, White being one of them. The two-time All Pro suffered an Achilles tear just four games into the '23 season. The year prior, he played in just six games while coming back from an ACL tear in 2021.

White acknowledged the mental and physical toll required to comeback from both injuries, emphasizing he was able to grow from those experiences and learn the adversity doesn't define him.

"Mentally, physically, I'm great," he said. "My therapist told me to leave the past in the past, and that's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna move forward, because that's all I can do. But just knowing the position that I'm in now, the only thing I can come in and do the best that I can and showcase my talents to the best of my ability."

White split the 2024 season with the Rams and Ravens — both one-year contracts that allowed him to become a free agent in the offseason. In a perfect scenario, it was Buffalo or Bust for White, and the corner got his wish.

"I told my agent, man, if you can't get Buffalo on the line, just don't call. This is the place that I want to be," he shared.

Reunited with the team that drafted him, White intends to make the most of the opportunity, however that may unfold.

"I feel like that's the only goal that we have here, is to win a Super Bowl and create great men while doing it," White said.
