WIDE RECEIVER JAMES HARDY
PM Practice – July 31, 2008
On why he had limited participation in practice tonight
When we were warming up tonight, I kind of pulled my left hamstring a little, nothing major. After talking with the trainer, he just said its better that I just sit out just in case, so I wouldn't pull it and be out for two to three weeks.
On if it is frustrating not practicing as much
This is a marathon, not a sprint. I feel like I've just begun the race, so I'm just trying to come in and fit in the best that I can. In all of these practices, the long legs that I have are hard to get used to, but I'll be fine. And I'll be back tomorrow.
On if he needed to talk to the trainer
I was going to go back out there anyway. He told me the best thing to do was to sit out, and I have to listen to what the trainer says. It's not sore. I sort of tweaked it a little bit. He just wanted me to be safe rather than sorry.
On how his first week of training camp is going
It's going great. I'm learning more plays every day and I just want to go in and do the best that I can.
On how he is understanding the offense so far
It's just a lot of things that have been thrown at me. I'm not going to sit here and tell you I know everything, but for the most part, I'm starting to get it. I'm getting better each and every practice. I'm looking forward to coming out tomorrow and helping my team and contributing.
