Josh Allen joins Buffalo Bills team owner and president Kim Pegula and multimedia journalist Maddy Glab on the latest episode of 'Bills Pod Squad,' presented by New York Lottery.
The episode is available now on iTunes, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. You can also watch the episode below, on the Bills' YouTube channel, or on the Bills Mobile app, presented by M&T Bank.
Here are three takeaways from their conversation.
1. His mind is a Will Ferrell encyclopedia
Josh has become known around the Bills for his ability to recite movie quotes (particularly those of the Will Ferrell variety), an ability he details to Maddy and Kim.
"The movie quotes, they just kind of happen organically within conversations," he says. "My mind, I don't know why, it thinks in movies, it thinks in Vines, and it thinks in GIFs. So, every time I'm having a conversation, if there's a key trigger word that pops up in my head, there is like a legit filing cabinet of different video quotes that I can bring up in that situation."
The quarterback then goes on to rattle off some quotes and shares his top movies, which you can hear around the 11:00 mark.
2. Stefon Diggs has raised Allen's game
On the field, sure, but off it as well.
"I mean, he's definitely added a lot of joy," Allen said. "That's the first thing he's added. Just being around him, he's got an infectious personality. He's just always happy, great energy, always joking around and trying to make people laugh.
"The joy, that's number one. I think my swag has (also) gone up just a little bit being around him."
3. Competition fuels his relationship with Brian Daboll
Josh speaks at length about how relationships with coaches Sean McDermott, Brian Daboll, and Ken Dorsey have helped foster the winning culture in Buffalo.
At least one of those relationships has its roots in competitiveness. Asked who on the Bills wants to win even more than him, the quarterback did not hesitate.
"Brian Daboll," he said. "One-thousand percent."
