After raising more than $1.1 million to benefit Western New York charities during last summer's Give 716, the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres have announced that the initiative will return this summer. Give 716 2022 will take place from Thursday, July 14 at 7:16 p.m. to Saturday, July 16 at 7:16 a.m., again coinciding with 716 Day. Registration is now open for all local charities who wish to be a part of the event and benefit from the generous donations collected in the initiative.
"The Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres Foundations were blown away by our community's response to Give716 last summer," said event organizers Michelle Roberts (Bills Foundation) and Rich Jureller (Sabres Foundation). "After more than 7,000 donors participated and raised $1,133,622 for our local charities, we're excited to see what 2022 brings. Western New York is an amazing and supportive community, and we look forward to again engaging our fans and working with partner organizations to support the crucial works of our local charities."
To be a part of Give 716: any qualified 501c3 organization that is in good standing with the IRS and located or providing services in the eight counties of Western New York (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming counties) will be eligible to participate and benefit from Give716. There is no cost to register. Registered charities will receive access to their own Admin Dashboard where they'll be able to track their progress during Give 716, access Campaign Resources such as toolkits and social media graphics, and receive the funds they've earned following a successful event. Charities are invited to sign-up now at Give716.org.
In 2021, the Western New York business community contributed over $150,000 in corporate sponsorships to Give 716, all of which were donated to participating charities. Interested businesses are encouraged to contact support@give716.org for information on how they can join the teams in supporting Give 716.
