Bills host Time Warner Cable Student Leader Banquet

Time Warner Cable, the nation's second-largest cable television operator and provider of telecommunications services, awarded Mitchell Narbe of Orchard Park a $500 scholarship at the Buffalo Bills Time Warner Cable Student Leader Banquet held in the Paul Maguire Club at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Narbe, a junior at Christian Central Academy in Williamsville, was recognized for his outstanding leadership, volunteerism and participation in the Buffalo Bills Time Warner Cable Student Leader Program. Narbe used Buffalo Bills giveaway items to organize the first-ever blood drive for the American Red Cross at his school, and raised over $1,000 for Samaritan's Purse, an organization that provides assistance for those in Haiti affected by the recent hurricanes.

"Time Warner Cable is pleased to work with the Buffalo Bills on this program to encourage volunteerism and create leaders in our community. Mitchell Narbe exemplifies leadership and dedication to giving back to the local community and helping others, and it is with great pride we award him this scholarship," said Terence Rafferty, Regional Vice President of Operations, Time Warner Cable WNY Division.

"The Buffalo Bills are proud of the Time Warner Cable Student Leaders program and this scholarship for Mitchell Narbe is a great extension of that partnership," said Pete Guelli, Senior Vice President of Business Ventures, Buffalo Bills, Inc. "Mitchell Narbe is a fine example of the wonderful things that students are doing in our community and in the Buffalo Bills Time Warner Cable Student Leader Program. We congratulate him on receiving this scholarship and for his leadership in our program."

The Buffalo Bills Time Warner Cable Student Leader program is designed to provide high school students unique experiences that will develop leadership skills in preparation for their continuing education throughout high school and college. Each year, local high school juniors and seniors are selected to participate in this season long program. As part of the program, the Buffalo Bills and Time Warner Cable host monthly meetings from August through February. At these meetings the Student Leaders learn about a variety of careers and meet professionals within local business and community organizations. The Student Leaders also have the opportunity to volunteer at Buffalo Bills home games, work with different community groups, assist various Buffalo Bills departments and serve as Buffalo Bills / Time Warner Cable ambassadors at their school.
