The Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres Foundations have announced scheduled "Power Hours" for Give 716, which begins Thursday at 7:16 p.m. and continues through 716 Day on Friday, July 16.
Six local companies, together with the Bills and Sabres Foundations, have pledged nearly $250,000 by agreeing to match donations made during select hours throughout the day.
Give 716 is an initiative introduced by the Bills and Sabres Foundations designed to inspire an epic day of giving in support of charities throughout Western New York. Donations will aid more than 400 charitable organizations, many of which have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Donors will have the option of donating to the Give716 general fund or directly to a charity of their choice. All donations can be made online at Give716.org. Give716 will begin at 7:16 p.m. on July 15 and run through 11.59 p.m. on Friday, 716 Day. The first 2,000 people who log onto Give716.org and donate $71.60 or more will receive an exclusive Give716 t-shirt featuring the Bills and Sabres logos.
The scheduled Power Hours are as follows:
*7 a.m. - Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York *
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York, official health plan of the Bills and Sabres, will match up to $20,000 in donations along with donating six $1,000 grants to charities selected by their employees.
*8 a.m. - KeyBank *
KeyBank, the official bank of the Buffalo Sabres, will match up to $20,000 in donations along with donating five $1,000 grants to select charities.
9 a.m. - Dave & Adam's Card World
Dave & Adam's Card World will match up to $25,000 in donations to animal related charities.
*11 a.m. - Buffalo Bills and Sabres Foundations *
The Bills and Sabres Foundations will match up to $15,000 in donations.
12 p.m. - Buffalo Bills and Sabres Foundations
The Bills and Sabres Foundations will match up to $15,000 in donations.
*1 p.m. - HUNT Real Estate and HUNT Mortgage *
HUNT Real Estate and HUNT Mortgage will donate $15,000 to select housing related charities.
2 p.m. - Wegmans
Wegmans will match up to $20,000 in donations along with donating five $1,000 grants to select charities.
*4 p.m. - M&T Bank *
M&T Bank, the official bank of the Buffalo Bills will match up to $25,000 in donations to select charities that aim to lessen the digital divide in Western New York.
7 p.m. - Buffalo Bills and Sabres Foundations, Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays and the Bills and Sabres Foundations will match up to $20,000 in donations.
Additionally, Moe's Southwest Grill will be donating $5 from each taco kit sold on 7/16 and Rachel's Mediterranean Grill is encouraging customers through Friday to "Round Up" to benefit Give716. Total Sports Enterprises will be donating 100% revenue from a Give 716 online auction to the cause and Wesley Clark & Peshkin will also be contributing with unique programing.
