In the midst of play action between the Bills and the New England Patriots on Thursday night, long-time sports commentators Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit praised head coach Sean McDermott for what he's done with the Bills organization since he became head coach in 2017.
"I think you talk about (Sean) McDermott, it's not just the numbers and the winning," Herbstreit said. "It's just, you get around this team, it's got a great vibe about it. You know, it seems like a very tight-knit group, coaching staff, players, really well-run organization."
Michaels responded with, "I mean, culture is like an overused phrase these days, but you get the point when a guy comes in and really changes the whole dynamic in the feel around the organization."
The question was then raised by Herbstreit if McDermott is known around the league and gets the respect that he's earned at this point.
"Should get more," replied Michaels.
In his 93rd regular season game as head coach, McDermott let his team to a 24-10 victory over the Patriots on Thursday night. In six years with the Bills, McDermott has a 58-35 winning record in the regular season.
