The Rural Outreach Center (ROC), located south of East Aurora, has received a generous grant of $50,000 from the Buffalo Bills Foundation to support the Scott R. Bieler Foundation Rural Outreach Center and name the Buffalo Bills Foundation Kitchen and Buffalo Bills Nutrition ROCS program.
The Buffalo Bills Foundation is focused on addressing child hunger, increasing access to nutritious food for families, and supporting healthy eating in the Western New York region. On Saturday, December 18th from 12-3 pm at the South Wales Community Center, located at 6387 Olean Rd, South Wales, NY, volunteers shared these holiday meals with rural families.
"The Bills Foundation is proud to support the incredible work of the Rural Outreach Center, and its mission to assist and empower those living in rural poverty in Western New York," said Michelle Roberts, Executive Director of the Buffalo Bills Foundation. "We hope our gift helps provide a brighter holiday for ROC families and we can't wait for the new facility to become a reality."
The ROC has identified a need to provide services for the rural population in Southern WNY and has a proven model for addressing the needs of rural families living in poverty. The Buffalo Bills Foundation answered our call to help construct the Scott R. Bieler Foundation Rural Outreach Center and to name the Center's kitchen. This facility is designed to be welcoming and sends the message that each person who enters is valued and will be cared for.
Director of Development, Monique Brannon, "We continue to be humbled by the support of the Buffalo Bills Foundation, directors, owners and players. Steve and Sarah Tasker, current chairs of the Reaching Out Campaign, have been committed to ROC from the very beginning. We are so grateful for the entire Buffalo Bills community. The Rural Outreach Center is proud to announce the naming of the Buffalo Bills Foundation Kitchen and Buffalo Bills Nutrition ROCS program."
