BUFFALO BILLS YOUTH FOOTBALL STADIUM KICKOFFS SEASON FOR YOUTH
The facility will host the I-90 Youth Football Classic this weekend
ORCHARD PARK, NY – On Saturday, August 18, and Sunday, August 19, the Buffalo Bills Youth Football Stadium will play host to the I-90 Youth Football Classic to help kick-off the football season for youth in the area. The I-90 Classic will include 10 exhibition youth football games and a pee-wee football carnival.
The weekend games will be part of the national Play Football Month celebration. The Bills, NFL and USA Football are teaming for a fourth time this summer to celebrate the start of the football season with USA Football's Play Football Month campaign – a national initiative in August-September to drive support for youth football and its young participants. The goal of Play Football Month is to showcase how different communities across the country celebrate the start of the football season through clinics, skills competitions, scrimmages, picnics and parades.
In 2004 the Buffalo Bills became the first NFL franchise to open a facility dedicated for youth football on the same grounds as the team headquarters pioneering the NFL Youth Football initiative. The manicured, regulation-size grass football field is located in the shadows of Ralph Wilson Stadium in a space formally occupied by the Bills' outdoor practice field. Over the past several years the Buffalo Bills Youth Football Stadium has received added features to become one of the top facilities to play football for young athletes in Western New York. Last season the facility hosted over 50 games throughout the season. The Bills do not charge any type of fees for youth organizations to use the field.
