It's the last chance to leave a good impression for players on the back half of Buffalo's roster. Tonight's preseason finale against Detroit will feature a lot of the reserve players for the Bills, but that's just the way they'll want it. The more chances to make plays the better. Here are some of the players who can really help their cause this evening.
RB Zach Brown –The compact back has run hard all through camp and wasn't slowed much by a rib injury a few weeks ago. Set to see plenty of snaps Thursday night he'll need to have a monster showing to unseat Tashard Choice and outshine Kendall Gaskins.
DT Corbin Bryant –The defensive tackle has flashed ability at times in camp and the preseason. He's caught up in a numbers game on a loaded Bills defensive line, but a strong performance could lock up a spot on the practice squad.
CB T.J. Heath –He was mentioned as a candidate still in the mix for the role to replace Stephon Gilmore, but it looks like Justin Rogers and Crezdon Butler are in front of him. A solid game however, could make him a consideration for the roster as the team's sixth corner knowing Gilmore takes up an extra spot.
WR Brandon Kaufman –The undrafted rookie has made some plays late in preseason games. He'll get the opportunity to do it in this game. To this point he hasn't played a down on special teams. That's got to change tonight for him to have a chance.
QB Thad Lewis –Unlike Matt Leinart, Lewis possesses athletic skills and mobility similar to that of EJ Manuel. A good showing just might land Lewis a role as the third quarterback until Kevin Kolb is healthy again.
