Head coach Dick Jauron confirmed on Friday that the Bills will be without four starters Sunday at Miami. Leodis McKelvin was already a given after being placed on injured reserve Thursday, but joining him will be fellow defensive backs Bryan Scott and Donte Whitner as well as starting left tackle Demetrius Bell.
Reserve defensive tackle John McCargo is also out with a calf injury. It?s the second straight game that McCargo will be unavailable after missing the home game against New Orleans last week.
It leaves Buffalo with just two healthy defensive tackles for the game in Marcus Stroud and Spencer Johnson. Kyle Williams has been bothered by a groin injury, but practiced fully on Friday and is expected to play. Being down a man at defensive tackle could be an issue with the weather forecast calling for a high temperature of 89 degrees in Miami on Sunday.
With Paul Posluszny still out of the lineup after breaking his arm in Week 1, Buffalo will be down four starters on defense. Stepping in a right cornerback will be veteran Drayton Florence, with George Wilson and rookie Jairus Byrd manning the safety positions. Marcus Buggs will continue to spell Posluszny at middle linebacker.
On the offensive line, Jonathan Scott will flip from right tackle over to left tackle to replace Bell and Kirk Chambers will come off the bench to fill Scott?s spot at right tackle.
