Johnson's Buffalo Funfest helps kids

Nearly 100 Bills fans joined Bills defensive lineman Spencer Johnson and his teammates at the Spencer Johnson 2nd Annual Fall Buffalo Funfest in Williamsville on October 15, 2010.

The event was hosted by Spencer and his wife Monique to raise funds to support the Spencer Johnson Adopt-A-High-School initiative, which offers academic and SAT/ACT assistance to under-served students.

"It is tremendous to see how our fans have come out and supported us in this worthwhile cause," said Johnson. "As a professional athlete, we realize we are in a position to make a difference and we want to do everything we can to help kids succeed."

The event featured a corn hole/bean bag toss tournament, kiddie bingo, and a grand prize raffle for a lucky fan to win four Spencer Johnson Ultimate Fan Experience tickets. Fans also had the opportunity to bring their cameras and take pictures with the Bills players in attendance.

The Bills players that took part in the event were linebacker Akin Ayodele, defensive lineman John McCargo, tight end Shawn Nelson, linebacker Reggie Torbor, cornerback Dominique Harris, nose tackle Torell Troup, linebacker John Russell and offensive lineman Jason Watkins.

"We had a great time," said Johnson. "It was great to see my teammates and fans going at it.  It was a blast!"

The winners of the corn hole/bean bag toss tournament were Nicole and Don Shufelt. The kids bingo winners were Katie and Emily Collins and Madelyn Rominger. The grand prize raffle winner was Chad Rush.
