Jordan Poyer named Ed Block Courage Award winner

Bills safety Jordan Poyer has been named the team's Ed Block Courage Award winner for 2017.

Poyer is in his first season with the Bills. He returned this offseason from a lacerated kidney that landed him on injured reserve after just six games played in 2016 with the Cleveland Browns.

The safety hasn't just returned to the field, Poyer is excelling. He is currently the only NFL player with 80-plus tackles (81), two-plus sacks (2) & two-plus interceptions (2).  

The Ed Block Courage Award is presented to the Buffalo Bills player who exemplifies a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. The recipient symbolizes professionalism, great strength, dedication and serves as a community role model for others.

Poyer will take part in the 40th annual national Ed Block Courage Awards Foundation ceremony on March 10, 2017 at The Renaissance Hotel – Inner Harbor Baltimore in Baltimore, MD and he will be honored with the 31 other award representatives from each NFL team.
