Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller teamed up with zero calorie Pepsi MAX and Tops Friendly Markets to celebrate the new Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie cans on November 16th at the Tops in West Seneca, NY. An estimated 400 fans showed up to meet Spiller, get his autograph and be among the first in Western New York to get the new Pepsi Max cans.
Spiller joins 13 other NFL rookies from across the league who are featured on their own Pepsi MAX can. The NFL Rookie edition of Pepsi MAX will be available for a limited time at participating retailers.
Spiller was humble about having his image on the Pepsi Max cans but enjoyed sharing the experience with the fans.
"We launched a new Pepsi can that I'm officially on," said Spiller. "Pepsi Max has zero calories and it always has a good taste. I wanted to come out here and enjoy this with the fans... share this moment with them. It's a humbling experience to be partners with Pepsi."
Some shoppers at Tops Friendly Markets were surprised to see all the hoopla.
One excited fan said, "I just came to buy some milk and I looked over and wow! There is CJ Spiller signing autographs. This is my lucky day!"
In addition to Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller, NFL Rookie Pepsi MAX cans will feature Brandon LaFell, Carolina Panthers, Jermaine Gresham, Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Haden, Cleveland Browns, Sean Lee, Dallas Cowboys, Jahvid Best, Detroit Lions, Tyson Alualu, Jacksonville Jaguars, Jared Odrick, Miami Dolphins, Toby Gerhart, Minnesota Vikings, Jason Pierre-Paul, NY Giants, Rolando McClain, Oakland Raiders, Brandon Graham, Philadelphia Eagles, Ryan Mathews, San Diego Chargers, Mardy Gilyard, St. Louis Rams.
Spiller added, "We're encouraging fans to go online and vote for Rookie of the Year and hopefully they'll be voting for me."
The Pepsi MAX Rookie can series is part of the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week/Year program, which allows fans to vote each week and at the end of the season for the best rookie in the league at www.pepsimax.com/facebook or www.NFL.com/rookie. As the official soft drink of the NFL and as part of the program, Pepsi MAX is not only honoring 14 different NFL rookies on the cans, but is giving fans the chance to win a trip to North Texas to attend Super Bowl XLV and all the festivities leading up to it, where they will announce the 2010 Rookie of the Year.
