The Buffalo Bills put on a performance to remember in all phases of the game en route to a dominant 31-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins to improve to 2-0 on the 2024 season.

From start to finish, the Bills took over, as the defense intercepted the Dolphins three times, one returned for a touchdown and sacked both Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thomson twice on fourth down situations.

James Cook left his imprints all over this game as he scored three times, including a 49-yard touchdown. Josh Allen has looked efficient in both victories.

The Bills are now 2-0 and 1-0 in the AFC East. Here's what experts around the NFL are saying about the Bills.

With the AFC East looking as if it was a much tougher division, many thought that the gap between the Bills and the rest of the division was closing up. Brandt, however, still believes that the AFC East is the Bills' to lose.

"Why is everybody surprised by this? This was a complete whooping from start to finish… People want them to go away. They're tired, they're tired. They want the new thing… No, no they're not. It's the Bills. It's the Ferrari guys. It's all I could say is that you're not getting a new thing. If you want a new thing, look in another division because this one's taken."

Ja'Marcus Ingram has stepped into his role since the injury to CB Taron Johnson. In week 1, he made a game saving play and in week 2, he caught two interceptions and took one back for a touchdown.

"With respect to Cook's three-touchdown evening, this might be the most memorable game of Ingram's career. He had two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown to slam the door shut on the Dolphins. It's a heck of a story for the University at Buffalo product."

Thursday night's win over the Miami Dolphins proved to be a statement maker for the Bills as they improved to 2-0 and blew out their division rivals. They did not need heroics from Allen to win and continued to show that they are on top of the AFC East.

"Describe the game in two words: Statement maker. If there was any doubt the AFC East still runs through Buffalo, New York, it was eliminated with this decisive win on the road. The Bills are 20-5 vs. the division since 2020 and, Allen's record vs. the Dolphins is 12-2. Thursday also marked the Bills' fifth-straight win, including in the postseason, over Miami."

Dealing with injuries and losing a starter for the second week in a row, the Bills defense executed their defensive game plan and kept both the Cardinals and the Dolphins in check. The Bills have limited explosive plays in both games and have had players step up in big moments.

"Hill and Waddle finished the game with a combined seven catches for 65 yards. After a bit of a slow start last week, Sean McDermott and Bobby Babich's shorthanded-but-gutsy defense has cleaned things up quite nicely."

Many experts picked teams other than the Bills to win the AFC East because they viewed the Dolphins and the Jets as threats as talented teams. Michael Holley is convinced that there is no team in the AFC East that will compete for the division title.

"It's really not a contest between the Bills and anybody else in the AFC East. I think they're clearly the class of the division… This is their division."

While on their way to the 31-10 victory over the Dolphins, Akbar Gbajabiamila saw that the Bills looked more physical than the Dolphins in all three phases of the game.

"The physical nature of this game and it was in the offense, it was on defense, special teams, the bills just dominated every single which way you looked. You particularly saw that even in the way they took away the threat of a big time Tyreek hill… it was just physical and I think everything kind of sets the tempo from the trenches and I look at the trenches and how they out physicaled them on the defensive line and on the offensive line both ways you just saw them get… it is very hard when you get out physicaled. You can scheme and you can throw the playbook out there on the field but if you don't start off with the fundamentals of physical and it just looked like from the very beginning it didn't look like the Dolphins even had a chance in this game."

The Bills have taken advantage of going for it on fourth downs in the early portion of the season, and they have been successful so far, including a 17-yard fourth down touchdown to James Cook in the first quarter. Greg Rosenthal loves that the Bills are leaning into their offense and being aggressive against their opponents so far.

"The reason I wanted to point that out is that they went for it. It's the first quarter, it's scoreless, and I noticed this last week and I clocked it. In two situations last week where Sean McDermott traditionally was pretty conservative, they went for it… I'm like hey if they're gonna lean into this offense, I love that Sean McDermott is kind of finding religion when it comes to going for it on 4th down because ultimately as good as their defense is schematically and stuff like this is an offensive team and they've been great on offense these first two weeks."

The Bills have had to lean into their depth early, as injuries to their defensive unit have taken place, but there has been no drop off in play as they have continued to make plays. Greg Cosell attributes this to the Bills coaching staff getting their players prepared and the players not making mistakes.

"There's no specific way to answer that… but I would say that that's a function of coaching because when you're putting in backups, they're obviously not as good as your starters or they wouldn't be backups. So, what is the most important thing when you put players in who don't get a lot of snaps within the context of your regular defense? Just not to make mistakes… I attribute that more to coaching than anything else… When I talk to defensive coaches when I'm at you know the scouting combine or during the offseason that's what they talk about more than anything, it's the mistakes… coaches want the defense executed as called."
