Highmark Community Hero Award: United Way WNY Girls in Sports

Congratulations to United Way WNY Girls in Sports as the recipient for this week's Highmark Community Hero Award.

For week 11 of the 2024 Season, the Buffalo Bills present the Highmark Community Hero award to Bunkers in Baghdad. Founded by Joe Hanna, Bunkers in Baghdad encourages soldiers to use golf as a stress reliever while overseas. The organization ships over 14 million golf balls and 1 million clubs annually to soldiers in 76 countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan.

As a part of the Buffalo Bills Native American Heritage month, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Bills announced the Native American Community Services of Erie & Niagara Counties as the Highmark Community Hero for the November 19th game versus the New York Jets.

The Buffalo Bills hosts its second Community Honors Dinner recognizing Community All Stars, Walter Payton Man of the Year Nominee, Salute to Service Award Winner, Community Quarterback Award Winner, Jr. Community Quarterback Award Winner, Foundation MVP, Legend of the Year and Inspire Changemaker Award.

For Week 14 of the 2022 Season, the Buffalo Bills present the Highmark Community Hero award to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York.

As part of the Buffalo Bills Salute to Service week, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York and the Bills today announced Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park as the Highmark Community Hero for the Nov. 13 game versus the Minnesota Vikings.

As part of the Buffalo Bills Huddle for Hunger week, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York and the Bills today announced Buffalo Go Green (BGG) as the Highmark Community Hero for the Oct. 30 game versus the Green Bay Packers.

For Week 5 of the 2022 Season, the Buffalo Bills present the Highmark Community Hero award to Kevin Guest House.

For Week 2 of the 2022 Season, the Buffalo Bills present the Highmark Community Hero award to The Buffalo Community Fridge, Buffalo Peacemakers, The Buffalo NAACP, The Resource Council of WNY and FeedMore Western New York.
