Bills head coach Sean McDermott met with the media as Buffalo heads into the bye week, sharing that it's always good to go into a week off with a win.
McDermott did not have any new injury updates and players who have existing injuries will be rehabbing through the bye week.
"This week, the players that have been rehabbing are going to stay here and rehab and try and get themselves back to where they're an option for us next week, we'll see where that goes. Don't really have any definitives at this point," he said.
This means we won't have any new information on the status of WR Keon Coleman (wrist), OL Spencer Brown (ankle), TE Dalton Kincaid (knee), or LB Matt Milano until next week once the team returns to practice.
Bills resilience, focus and culture important in 9-2 start
McDermott was asked about what has stood out to him about Buffalo's 9-2 start, the best record through 11 games since 1992, and the head coach shared he's been impressed with the team's resilience, player development and overall culture.
"There were a lot of questions about our team coming into this season that were mentioned and documented through the course of the early part of the season in particular," McDermott said, referring to the preseason notion that the Bills may take a step back in 2024.
"We were able to do a good job, adding some personnel, and then coaches, developing some of the young players who were onboarded early here. We've kind of weathered the storm with some injuries, getting through some of that kind of chapter of the book to this point as well."
After Sunday's win, Bills WR Amari Cooper said, "This is the first time in a long time I actually felt joy from winning this game."
McDermott shared Monday that knowing a player that just joined the team midseason would have such high praise means a lot.
"That really speaks more to me than to about our culture and the environment that we have here in Buffalo than anything," he said.
Praise for Terrel Bernard
Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard made the game-clinching interception against Patrick Mahomes in the 30-21 win, marking his second INT this season. The third-year linebacker was also instrumental in holding Chiefs TE Travis Kelce to two catches for eight yards.
Since Bernard returned from injury in Week 9, Bernard has racked up 25 tackles, one sack, and one interception in the last three games.
"He's in complete control of the operation. He's the unquestioned signal caller and leader of our defense," DC Bobby Babich said. "He showed a lot of fire yesterday."
