He sat out last week's game with cracked rib cartilage. LeSean McCoy said last week he wasn't even 80 percent, but after making progress over the last few days that head coach Sean McDermott described as "considerable," McCoy declared himself ready to suit up Sunday in Green Bay.
"I'm playing. I'm playing," said McCoy. "I felt good today. There's still some pain, but I'll be alright. I can deal with that. I feel good. Today was the first day I really ran hard. I felt fast. I feel rested. I'm excited."
McCoy, who was officially limited in practice Wednesday, wasn't concerned about taking hits. He said he can withstand any pain that comes with getting tackled. The big stumbling block last week was the pain his ribs gave him when he was running at top speed. This week that pain is significantly reduced.
"Today I was full go sprinting," he said. "I'm ready to get back out there and get going. I've got to get it going. Looking at all the other running backs, I've got a lot to do."
McCoy has just 61 yards on 16 carries this season after missing last week's game. He wants to get back to being part of the action.
"It's not how you start, it's how you finish," he said. "For myself, I've just got to get going. Find a way to run the ball and get me in open space and make some guys miss, break some tackles. Just get going. Get the running game going, get the yards up and let's roll. Other than that, just win games, take it a game at a time and we'll be fine."
