1. Will John Brown repeat his Week 1 magic?
Last season, John Brown caught the game-winning touchdown in week one against the Jets. For Brown, that was his second-best game of the season having seven receptions for 123 yards and the one touchdown. When the Jets come to Buffalo on Sunday, their defense will look a lot different from the last time they played. That's why Brown said that he can't prepare for the game this week using last year's film.
"This year is really different," Brown said. "you can't really go off of last year's film. You have a lot of guys that have been putting in a lot of work. We don't know what to expect, but we just have to prepare the best way we can."
Brown is going into his seventh season in the NFL, and his second with the Bills. He will have a lot more support at the wide receiver position with the additions of Stefon Diggs and two rookies in Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins. Brown is excited to see what this team can bring this season and that all starts on Sunday.
"There's definitely a lot of excitement for me," Brown added. "because we look pretty good. We have a lot of depth at a lot of positions. I'm definitely excited to see what we bring and what we can do."
2. Dion Dawkins' expectations for the season
Dion Dawkins signed a four-year contract extension this offseason, securing the Bills left tackle position through the 2024 season. Dawkins is excited to start his fourth year with the Bills on Sunday and says the important thing that they need to do is win every day.
"Well, the expectations are literally to win every day," Dawkins stated. "and that's throughout the entire season. We're going to start with film, then with practice, with our bodies and how we eat, we're just going to take every day, one day at a time. We need to knock out every practice like it's a game and knock out every game like it's a game. Do that and take it one step and one game at a time."
Dawkins has been in Buffalo since 2017 and is only one of seven players on the roster from that season. Even though they have added more talent and depth to the roster, Dawkins said that the team plays with an underdog mentality.
"We literally live in the underdog mindset," Dawkins added. "That's where we live, where we breathe, where we eat, and we appreciate all of the love, but we worry about ourselves. People will talk good and people will talk bad but as long as we just focus on the 2020 Buffalo Bills, the rest will be history."
3. ESPN's bold prediction for the Bills
ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques made a bold prediction for the Bills 2020 season. He is predicting big things for the Bills top two wide receivers. With Josh Allen going into his third year in this Bills system, it is expected that we should see a better offensive performance in 2020. Buffalo's talented group of wide receivers will only benefit from that.
Stefon Diggs and John Brown will each have 1,000 receiving yards.
Brown (1,060 yards) and Diggs (1,130) are coming off career highs in receiving yards in 2019 and should complement each other nicely as the Bills roll out their most prolific passing offense since 2002. Diggs will also make his first Pro Bowl and will finish in the top 10 in the NFL in receiving touchdowns. -- Marcel Louis-Jacques
