Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Friday that DT DaQuan Jones will be available to play in Week 17 and return from his pectoral injury.
Jones' return is not official yet as the team still must activate him off IR before Sunday, but McDermott expects that move to be made.
"Looks like he's heading in a good direction here," McDermott said.
Jones has been on IR since Oct. 11 with a pectoral injury suffered in Week 5 against Jacksonville. The defensive tackle was one of the most productive in the league at his position before getting hurt, recording 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
"A veteran leader, a presence and a guy that's played a lot of snaps," McDermott said of Jones' impact.
In other Bills injury news, McDermott is not ruling out anyone yet for Sunday and said two other defensive players have a chance to play. McDermott shared that both DE A.J. Epenesa (rib) and S Micah Hyde (neck stinger) are continuing to improve.
Buffalo's full injury report will be updated after Friday's practice.
Post-practice Update: DE A.J. Epenesa, S Damar Hamlin, DT DaQuan Jones and WR Justin Shorter are listed as QUESTIONABLE. All other players are off the injury report.
