There was good news concerning Buffalo's injured players list on Friday. Starting CB Levi Wallace, who sustained an ankle injury early in practice Thursday, was much improved on Friday and practiced fully. He is expected to start at right cornerback on Sunday against the Giants.
"He did a good job (in practice)," head coach Sean McDermott said of Wallace.
The news was not as good for both nickel corner Taron Johnson and receiver/returner Andre Roberts. Both were declared out for Sunday's game due to hamstring and quad injuries respectively. Neither player practiced this week.
Siran Neal is expected to start in place of Johnson at nickel corner, while Micah Hyde and Isaiah McKenzie are expected to handle the bulk of Roberts' return work in his absence.
TE Tyler Kroft sounds closer to returning. Even though he was limited in practice all week, he wore pads on Thursday. Suffice to say he's anxious to get the green light.
"I'm itching to get back. I'm going to keep preparing like I'm up this week," Kroft said. "We don't know if it's going to be this week or next week or beyond. But we're working."
Coach McDermott wouldn't rule him out for Sunday.
"He was limited," McDermott said. "We'll see how he looks for the game."
Cole Beasley returned from an illness that forced him to sit out Thursday's practice and was a full participant Friday. He's expected to start Sunday.
