Von Miller has made a big impact whenever he steps on the field throughout his 11-year career. Now he continues to impact kids' lives in his home state of Texas.
Over the weekend, Miller hosted his third annual celebrity gala fundraising event in College Station, Texas for his Von's Vision Foundation.
Through live and silent auctions, sponsorships, ticket sales, and donations, the gala raised over $250,000. All the proceeds will go to benefit the community outreach programs of Von's Vision Foundation's Texas A&M chapter.
"Serving these students is my legacy and I'm proud that I help them succeed," Miller said via press release.
Miller started this foundation in 2012 and his mission is to provide low-income students with the eye care and fashionable, corrective eyewear they need to be their best in the classroom and in life. Since its inception, Von's Vision has gifted over $5.1 million in eye care and fashionable eyewear to students in need across the country.
At the gala, Miller was joined by other Texas A&M alumni such as Mike Evans, Johnny Manziel, Keaton Sutherland, Kingsley Keke, Trayveon Williams, and Greer Shelter. Miller, Evans, and Manziel held a Q&A session after cocktails and a catered dinner. They also held a heads/tails contest where the winner took home a signed Texas A&M football helmet signed by all the alumni who attended.
