Buffalo Bills K Tyler Bass was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking the game-winning field goal against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon.

Although he has won Player of the Month three times, this is Bass' first Player of the Week award.

Bass converted all three of his field goal attempts (40, 49 & 61) and scored 10 points on the day. His 61-yard field goal came with 0:05 remaining and gave the Bills a 30-27 victory.

"It means everything, very emotional," Bass said. "Haven't really processed it yet, but just putting in a lot of work, man, and was just focused on right here, right now, the present and being patient with everything, man. You're gonna go through ups and downs, but just continue to put your best foot forward. We did that today. So just very emotional, I would say."

The 61-yard field goal established a new franchise record for longest field goal, surpassing Steve Christie's previous record of 59 yards in September 1993 against the Dolphins.

"You can see it after the kick… I looked back and it seemed like the whole team was off the sideline giving him a big hug and huddled around him," LS Reid Ferguson said. "He's definitely not going to forget that, and I think that's just a testament to how much guys love T Bass, and how much he's been fighting to get over this hump."

Bass became the ninth kicker all-time and the first since Greg Joseph on Dec. 24, 2022, with a game-winning field goal of 60-or-more yards in the final two minutes of regulation or in overtime.

He is now 9-for-9 on field goal attempts in the last minute of the fourth quarter or overtime in his career and has made five game-winning field goals in the final minute of a game.

"So proud of him, so happy for him," QB Josh Allen said. "Got emotional in my little post-game speech out there, just the trials and tribulations that he's been in throughout this year. Obviously missing one early in the day, hitting the pole in another, you know he could have easily put it in the tank and 61-yard field goal to win a game against a division rival, it's what stories are made of. And I love him. I respect him so much. Everybody in that locker room's so happy for him, and he's our guy."
